‘Equidistant’
‘Equidistant’ is a long-form documentary project which explores the ways in which our attachment to place can form an individual’s personal identity. The project documents her hometown of Lancefield in the Macedon Ranges.
As the geographical centre of Victoria, the small country town provides a sense of safety and contentment to the people who call it home. This photographic documentation of place explores the varying connections formed by residents who have called the town home for a number of years.
The project is guided by the concept of place attachment, which is the bond formed between a person and a place, in relation to each individual’s opinions and surrounding environments.
